What does Third Raven & Co do?
Brand strategy and website design for established service businesses. The strategy comes first, which means deciding what the business should be known for, which client it should be the obvious choice for and what to say to them. Then my team builds the website that carries it. One offer, four weeks, three projects a month.
What is True Bearings?
It is the one thing we sell. A four week engagement that sets the direction the business needs, then builds the website on top of it. One deep dive with me, a handful of approvals from you, and the strategy, messaging, design, build and search setup are handled.
Do I need a brand strategy before a new website?
In most cases yes. The message decides the structure and the structure decides the design, so building first usually means building twice. Deciding who you are for and what makes you different takes a few weeks. Rebuilding a site that was designed around the wrong message takes considerably longer.
What is the difference between branding and brand strategy?
Branding is what it looks like. Brand strategy is what it means.
The logo, the colours and the typefaces are the expression of a decision, and the decision has to happen first: who the business is for, what problem it owns, and why someone should choose it over the one down the road. A new look on an undecided business only makes the confusion tidier.
Can AI build a website for my business?
It can build the site. What it cannot do is tell you which client you should be the obvious choice for, what problem you should own, or why someone should trust your team rather than just you. It has no view on your business, because it has never had to win work in it. Production is cheap now. Direction isn’t.
What it costs and how long it takes
How much does it cost?
Every project is quoted, because no two of these are the same size. What moves the number is how many pages you need, whether there's booking or anything else that has to connect to your site, and whether your brand needs building from scratch or just refining.
Payable in full or across four milestones.
How long does it take?
Four weeks from the deep dive to launch. The only part that depends on you is approvals coming back, and there are a handful of those, not dozens.
Is there a smaller way to start?
Yes. A paid audit, $500, credited toward the project if you go ahead within sixty days. I go through your website, top to bottom, and you get a report with the actions written out. If you would rather work through them yourself, you can, and plenty of businesses should.
Can I just get the website without the strategy?
I can, but not well, and I would rather say so upfront. Building before the direction is set is how people end up doing this twice. If the strategy genuinely is already settled and written down, bring it and we will build from it.
What if I only want the strategy?
That is a real stopping point rather than an upsell trap. You see the strategy and the site structure before anything gets built, and if you do not believe in the direction you can stop there. The strategic work is yours either way.
Whether this suits your business
Who is this for?
Established service businesses that are good at what they do and have hit a ceiling. Usually the owner is at capacity, or there are other people whose calendars are not filling the way the owner’s does, and referrals are carrying more of the load than anyone would like.
I am a solo business owner. Am I too small for this?
No. Being small is not the disqualifier. A solo owner at capacity who is getting ready to grow is exactly right for it. What does not work is a business still deciding what it is.
Do you work with businesses outside Cairns?
Yes. We are based in Cairns and work with businesses across Australia. The deep dive happens over video, which is how most of it runs regardless of where you are.
I had a bad experience with this last time. Why would this be different?
Fair question, and the answer usually sits in what you got last time. Nine times out of ten it was design with no decision behind it, which is why it stopped working the moment the business moved on. That decision is the part we do first, and you see it before you commit to the build.
Results, and what happens after launch
Will my website rank on Google?
Search setup is built into the project rather than sold separately afterwards. Across the seven client sites we have measured, every one ranks for the core local service term its business wanted to be found for. Your market and your competition are different, so treat that as a track record rather than a promise.
Can you guarantee results?
No, and be careful of anyone who does. What I can tell you is what gets measured and when. At ninety days the honest measure is qualified enquiries from the right people, because revenue also depends on your pricing, your capacity and how you sell.
What happens after launch?
You leave with a roadmap for what to focus on next, and a checkpoint at ninety days to look at what is actually happening. Most of this industry hands over a website and moves on.
Who actually does the work?
I lead the strategy on every project personally, which is the reason for the three a month limit. My team takes that direction and brings it to life through copy, design and build, which is the only reason four weeks is possible at all.
How do we start?
A thirty minute call. You tell me what is actually happening, I tell you what I think is causing it. If I am not the right person for it, I will say so and point you somewhere better.
Still got a question?
Ask it on a call. Thirty minutes, no deck, no pitch.
