Where Jakara started
Jakara is a trauma-informed EMDR therapist with years of experience in other people's practices. When she started her own, she had the skills and nothing else: no brand, no website, no referral network and nothing on Google. In her words, she had no idea how anyone would find her.
And clients weren't the only people who needed to find her. GPs and paediatricians refer too, and they decide whether to trust a therapist in about thirty seconds. She needed a website that earns a doctor's trust as well as a client's.
What we did
01
Positioned the practice around the referrer’s decision as well as the client’s, so a GP could understand the work and trust it quickly
02
Built a brand that reads calm, safe and clinical, because in this field the feeling of the brand is the first evidence of the work
03
Structured the site so a nervous client and a busy doctor could both find what they needed and act without friction
04
Built the search foundations in from the start, around the EMDR and counselling terms people actually use locally

What changed
Within two months of launch, Jakara was averaging two website enquiries a week and about one GP referral a week, from doctors who found her through Google. She increased her client days to keep up.
773 sessions since launch, 226 of them from organic search, ranking for EMDR therapy Cairns and counselling Cairns.

“Hayley walked me through the process step by step and made it really easy and enjoyable. She created something I could not have imagined. I’m really lucky to have clients reach out to me through the website, and referrers like GPs and paediatricians have been able to find me through Google.”
